Throughout this article, we will explore some key biblical passages that help us understand the Lenten journey and its importance in our Christian life.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>The number 40 in the Bible. <\/strong>The number 40 appears repeatedly in the Bible as a time of testing and renewal:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>The 40 days of the Flood (Genesis 7:12)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Dios purific\u00f3 la tierra con un diluvio que dur\u00f3 40 d\u00edas y 40 noches. Simb\u00f3licamente, la Cuaresma es un tiempo para limpiar nuestro coraz\u00f3n y renovar nuestra relaci\u00f3n con Dios.<br \/>\nLos 40 a\u00f1os del pueblo de Israel en el desierto (N\u00fameros 14, 33) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The people of Israel wandered in the desert for 40 years before entering the Promised Land. In the same way, Lent calls us to go through a \u2018spiritual desert\u2019, leaving behind our attachments and trusting in God&#8217;s providence. <\/p>\n<p><strong>  2.  <span style=\"color: #003366;\">Moses&#8217; 40 days at Sinai (Exodus 34, 28)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Moses fasted and prayed on Mount Sinai for 40 days before receiving the tablets of the Law. Lent is an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with God through prayer and meditation on His Word. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3.<span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>The 40 days of Jesus in the desert (Matthew 4, 1-2)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before beginning his public ministry, Jesus was led into the desert, where he fasted for 40 days and was tempted by the devil. His victory over temptation inspires us to resist sin and to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Reflections for living the 40 days of Lent<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nImitating Jesus in the desert, we can dedicate this time to the renunciation of that which distances us from God, to constant prayer and to charity towards those most in need. Lent is a call to change our lives, to abandon sin and to follow the Gospel with more dedication. Like the people of Israel in the desert, we all face times of difficulty. This season reminds us that God always accompanies us and strengthens us in adversity. Lent is a journey of hope that leads us to the joy of Easter.
