This feast reminds us that Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, was taken up to heaven, body and soul, and now shares fully in the glory of her risen Son. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is the meaning of Mary&#8217;s Assumption?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><strong>Assumption of Mary into heaven<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the fulfilment of a life given completely to God. Mary, full of grace from her conception, was preserved from sin and, at the end of her earthly life, did not know the corruption of the grave. She was glorified by the same God she bore in her womb.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This mystery, proclaimed a dogma of faith by Pope Pius XII in 1950, affirms that<\/span><strong> Mary is alive body and soul with her Son.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">interceding for each one of us. Her Assumption is a foretaste of what we too hope to experience: the final resurrection and eternal life in the presence of God. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A sign of hope for all<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Assumption is not only a joy for Mary, but a <\/span><strong>sign of hope for all humanity.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In her we see God&#8217;s promises fulfilled: if Mary, a simple and faithful woman, was glorified, we too are called to holiness and to share in God&#8217;s glory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a world wounded by uncertainty and despair, the figure of Mary raised to heaven reminds us that <\/span><strong>faith has a glorious destiny.<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. That our life has meaning when it is lived with dedication, humility and trust in God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to live this solemnity<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Participating in the<\/span><strong> Eucharist on 15 August,<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> giving thanks for the gift of Mary.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Praying the <\/span><strong>Holy Rosary<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, contemplating the glorious mysteries.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Offering flowers or a gesture of love in the Marian corner of our home.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reflecting as a family on Mary&#8217;s role in salvation history.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><strong> Assumption of Mary<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an invitation to look to heaven with our feet on the ground. To follow her example of faith, service and trust in the midst of our daily reality.
