Although its roots are cultural and historical, this holiday has crossed borders and become a special occasion to express gratitude, share with family, and appreciate the gifts received.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is Thanksgiving Day?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanksgiving tiene su origen en el siglo XVII, cuando los primeros colonos ingleses en Am\u00e9rica ofrecieron un banquete para dar gracias a Dios por la cosecha y la ayuda recibida de los pueblos nativos. Since then, the celebration has evolved, but its essence remains the same: <\/span><strong>give thanks for life, family, friends, and divine providence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although it is not an official religious holiday, for Christians it is an opportunity to remember that gratitude is a deeply evangelical attitude.<\/p>\n<p>For the Angelic Sisters<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, el esp\u00edritu de acci\u00f3n de gracias est\u00e1 presente cada d\u00eda, especialmente en el acompa\u00f1amiento a los m\u00e1s solos, en el servicio cotidiano y en la alegr\u00eda de lo peque\u00f1o.  <\/span><strong>A grateful life becomes a life of devotion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>How we can live Thanksgiving today<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Giving thanks to God in personal or communal prayer.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sharing a table with someone who is alone or needs company.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Writing a letter or message to someone who has had a significant impact on our lives.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performing a concrete act of service with a grateful heart.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At this time of year, when many countries are preparing for Advent and Christmas, Thanksgiving Day can be an open door to recognise God&#8217;s action in everyday life, cultivate a humble heart and renew our desire to live as grateful, available and fraternal people.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Thank you, Lord, for so much.
