Discover how summer can be a time to deepen your faith and encounter God in everyday life.

Summer is not only a season of rest and leisure, but also an opportunity to live our faith in a deeper and renewed way. In the midst of heat, travel and holidays, we can discover God’s presence in every little detail of nature and in the peaceful moments of rest.

Summer with purpose is a call to pause, to contemplate and to allow spirituality to be at the centre of our daily activities. Jesus himself sought moments of silence and retreat to pray and strengthen his heart.

How to find God in nature and rest?
  • Contemplation in nature: Take time to walk in the countryside or on the beach, and use these moments to pray or give thanks for the beauty of creation. For all that surrounds us – the sky, the sea, the earth, its fruits and its life forms – has a deeper meaning: it was created so that, through it, we might discover and love God.

This is how St. Genevieve Torres expresses it in her writings: ‘God created the world and with it a variety of things, all for me, so that I might use them as much as they lead me to the end of my creation, which is God, which is glory’.

What use do we make of all that is created? How do we respond to that coffered sky studded with stars, with the sun and moon proclaiming the greatness of their Creator? How do we look at that immense sea, full of fish and wonders, the earth with its mountains, flowers and animals?

  • Prayer at sunrise or sunset: These are ideal times to reflect and thank God for the gift of life and the wonder of the day.
  • Spiritual reading: Take a spiritual book or Bible with you to nourish your heart during the holidays.
  • Spaces of silence: Even on holidays, when the pace relaxes and time seems more ours, it is important to seek small moments of silence. In the midst of rest, silence becomes a sacred space where we can listen to the voice of God, without noise, without haste.

St. Genevieve Torres wisely reminds us: “Silence is the basis of recollection. Without it our powers are scattered and our soul is the plaything of many changes of impressions that often put it on the precipice of losing its peace”.

Summer with purpose is also a time for strengthening family and friendship, sharing faith with others and creating spaces of encounter that reflect God’s love.

From the Religiosas Angélicas we encourage you to make this summer a journey of encounter with Christ. Live with joy, rest with gratitude and let every ray of sunshine illuminate your spirit. Are you ready to make this summer a time of faith and hope?
