With great joy and gratitude, the community of the parish of San Pedro Claver in Calarcá celebrated on September 17 the commitment of the first lay Genoveva members. This significant event took place in a Eucharist presided by Fr. Anderson Vargas Lemus, who during his homily highlighted the importance of deepening the knowledge of the charism of Saint Genoveva Torres and, above all, of living it authentically.
Fr. Vargas Lemus urged the newly consecrated lay members to be witnesses of the faith, inspiring others to follow this spiritual path, and thus contributing to the enrichment of the Church. In his words, he stressed the need for this testimony of life to be a source of motivation for those around them, promoting the expansion of this charism within the community.
The devotion to Saint Genoveva Torres, co-patron of the parish, and the protection of the Holy Angels were invoked so that the new Genoveva lay people would maintain perseverance and fidelity in following the Lord. This act marks an important step in the spiritual life of the community, fostering a greater commitment to the values of the Gospel and the legacy of Saint Genevieve.
May this new group of consecrated lay people be a beacon of hope and faith, guiding others on their spiritual journey and strengthening the mission of the Church in the world. May Saint Genoveva and the Holy Angels always accompany them in this noble purpose!
