St. Joseph, Co-Patron of the Angelic Sisters: A Model of Faith and Self-Surrender
The figure of St. Joseph occupies a special place in the spirituality of our Congregation, being our co-patron and a constant intercessor on his journey of faith and service. St. Genoveva Torres, foundress of the Congregation, instilled in us a deep devotion to the Patriarch of Nazareth, highlighting his example of humility, obedience and unwavering love for God.
St. Joseph in the Spirituality of the Angelic Sisters
St. Genevieve invited her religious to trust fully in the protection of St. Joseph, recalling his role as faithful custodian of the Holy Family and defender of the Church. In one of her teachings, she said: “Try to please Jesus, Mary and St. Joseph, for it is for their glory that you work and for the good of your soul. These words resonate today as a call to generous dedication and trust in divine Providence.
As Angelic Sisters we see in St. Joseph a model of consecrated life, especially in his fruitful silence and his attitude of selfless service. In times of difficulty, St. Genevieve encouraged them to have recourse to him with these words: “Pray, therefore, and cry out to the Lord that the captivity of not having a tabernacle may be lifted. Go to St. Joseph, be very observant. Let them live with much faith and charity and they will attract the eyes of God”.
Devotion to St. Joseph within our Congregation is manifested through constant prayer and trust in his intercession. We invoke his help in his mission of accompanying and serving, remembering that “May the glorious patriarch St. Joseph always be your protector and intercede with the Lord to obtain on your behalf the greatest blessings”.
The figure of St. Joseph continues to be our pillar in the spiritual life. His intercession and example guide us in our daily dedication, urging us to live with simplicity, fidelity and love in the service of the Kingdom of God. With trusting hearts, we continue to turn to him as our protector and spiritual father, certain of his accompaniment and blessings.
¡St. Joseph, pray for us and accompany us on our journey!
