Old age is a particularly delicate stage in everyone’s life. Physical frailty, the loss of loved ones and reduced independence often occur, and in this context, care cannot be limited solely to healthcare or assistance; the spiritual dimension also plays an essential role in maintaining dignity, offering comfort and renewing hope.

As Angelic Religious, we understand that accompanying the elderly means providing comprehensive care: body, mind and spirit. In our residences for elderly women, we work every day to guarantee professional care that ensures well-being and safety, but we are aware that people need more than just technical care. Many residents face profound questions about the meaning of life, suffering, loss, or transcendence, and addressing this dimension is also part of our mission.

Therefore, spiritual accompaniment is not an added element, but a constant presence in the daily life of our communities, offering spaces for prayer and contemplation, liturgical celebrations and personal accompaniment, always respecting the freedom and pace of each woman.

Furthermore, in times of illness or greater fragility, this closeness becomes a fundamental source of support, helping people to live with serenity in situations that require comfort and inner strength.

At the same time, we ensure that our residences are authentic homes where a sense of belonging is fostered. For this reason, spirituality is also expressed through attentive listening, respect for each person’s history, and the certainty that every life retains its value until the end. We believe that dignity does not diminish with age, but rather the opposite is true: it deserves to be protected and accompanied with greater sensitivity.

Our mission drives us to combine professionalism, service and hope. That is why, in a society where vulnerability is often overlooked, we wish to continue offering a supportive presence through a welcoming community and a faith that walks alongside us, always guided by the example of our Mother, Saint Genoveva Torres Morales.

In short, spiritual accompaniment in old age is, for us, a concrete way of caring for the human heart when it needs it most.
